It is a day to recognize the efforts of those who work tirelessly to build our communities and make the world a better place. You know that the theme for this term is Ubuntu. Ubuntu is an African philosophy that teaches us about togetherness, interconnectedness and the idea that “I am because we are.” It’s about recognizing the humanity in others and understanding that we are stronger when we work together.

Today, we can see the spirit of ubuntu reflected in the message of Worker’s Day. Just as Workers Day reminds us to appreciate the labour of workers from all walks of life, ubuntu teaches us to value each person in our community and respect their contributions, no matter how big or small.

As we celebrate Workers Day, let’s remember the spirit of ubuntu and strive to create a community where everyone is valued, respected and supported. Let’s appreciate the workers in our lives and work together to build a brighter future for all. The Grade 6will present a poem celebrating the careers they aspire to pursue in the future.”
